In this role, Marie is responsible for educating others on the role and services of the Board through multiple communication methods as well as promoting the Board’s mission to empower individuals with developmental disabilities to live, learn, work and play in the community. Prior to her current position, Marie served in various leadership roles within the K-12 and post-secondary public education systems and helped to create new models of education tailored to the gifts and abilities of all learners, including one that received the national Baldrige Excellence in Education distinction. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Ohio University and a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Alaska Southeast.
